One of the leading products in Creta is the Cretan wine. There is great wealth and huge variety of vineyards and of course dozens of wineries are an art for the island. In Crete, produced dozens of grape varieties since 13th century to today. The experience and expertise of the winemakers continually evolved and moved in the centuries. Upgraded ancient varieties and created new ones.

Today the main varieties of Cretan wine, from white grape varieties of Crete is Vilanathe Vidiano, Dafni, the Plyto the Muscat of Spina and Malvazia. Predominately, most famous and interesting red varieties are Kotsifali, Mandilari and Liatiko.
