Cretan Sticks (Katsounes)
The Cretan stick, otherwise Katsouna was an integral part of the body of the Cretans.Elderly and young Cretan Shepherds constantly kept a Katsouna to help them in walkingand especially climbing mountain areas where grazing animals and remained there fordays. It was a valuable tool for transferring the bags that contained the daily snack and water prepared by the housewife.
Valuable uses for Katsouna are still to cleant with it the shepherds their paths, but also trapped with the back the animals want to escape, while in times of conflict and was a weapon against the enemy.
